I call the shots
Chapter 20
The ambulanceπ
came and quickly took Chantelleβs mum away and Chantelleβs dad followed his wife
in the ambulance.
Amanda left the house
in shock and embarrassment.
Chantelle sat in her
house and cried, whiles David comforted her.
βChantelle instead of crying, letβs pray that she
survivesβ, David said.
βYou donβt understand, even if she dies or survives, Iβll be charged
for attempted murder and I bet that the police are on their wayβ.
πππππ
βWhere did you even get the gun from?β
βReeceβπ¬π’
βYou got to be kidding meβ.π
βSomeone was following me and I couldnβt approach
the person without being protected, so I had to look for a weapon and I knew
that Reece had oneβ.
βMmmm.. Reece! So he
made a move on you?β
βYeah, and you gave in?β
βDavid, I was sleepy and I donβt know what got into
me. I think I have a huge problem, Iβve never been truly satisfied with anything, I
always want moreβ, she said, crying.
ππ
βChantelle relax. Iβll help you through this, but first letβs pray that
you donβt go to jail for this. Our baby canβt come to the world
like this, and I canβt have my wife behind barsβ.
βYouβre not divorcing me?β
π
βChantelle, letβs focus on the issue at hand first. Get into the
mood of prayerβ.
David and Chantelle
prayedππΌππΌ for over two hours, but were cut
short when the police stormed their home.
βHey, get away from my wife!!β David screamed.
The cops ignored him
and handcuffed Chantelle.
βWhat am I being arrested for?β Chantelle asked
struggling with the cops.
βYouβre being arrested for an attempted homicideβ, the police
said.
ππππ
βBaby, my mum is aliveβ, Chantelle said
smiling ππand then she left with the police without struggling.
David quickly called
Candice and filled her in, and then he left for the police station.

βͺ
Chantelle was sent to
jail and she waited patiently for her husband and Chantelle to arrive.
As she was waiting, she
went down on her knees to pray.
βGod, I feel so distant from you right nowπ, and I
know that itβs the devil trying to prevent me from reaching out to you.
I destroy every evil manipulation now in the name of JesusππΌ.
Father Lord, I thank you for saving my mother, now I know that youβre always
there for me. God please right now, Iβm asking you to forgive me for all my sins and
give me the strength to change my ways. God, I canβt do it alone, please
send your holy spirit to help me and guide me. God, Iβm also asking you to
forgive my parents and Amanda, and give me the strength to forgive them tooππΌ.
Also help David to forgive meπ’, I love him so much and I donβt want him to
leave meβΉ, please help me out oh Lord. And finally, please help me
out in court, you know deep down that I didnβt want to kill my
mum, I donβt want to go to prison, I know that I have to be punished
for this, but please, I donβt want to go to prison. I thank you Lord for an answered
prayerβ.
ππΌππΌ
She finished praying
and wiped her tears away.
After a long while, she
was taken out of her cell and taken to a room. When she got there, she saw her
Husband, Candice and Reece there.
βWhatβs he doing here?β she asked angrily.
π‘
βTrust me, I donβt even want him here, but you were in possession
of his gun, he has to admit it and accept all charges that comes with itβ, David said.
βIs he going to admit to that?β she said glaring at
Reece.
ππ
βI will and Iβm sorry for everything Iβve caused you,
Chantelle. Iβll admit that I was illegally in possession of a firearm
and Iβll take all charges that come with itβ.
βGood!β David said.
βCandice, I donβt want to go to prisonβ, Chantelle said.
βDonβt worry, you wonβt go there. There was no intent of killing and
sheβs not dead too. But..β
βWeβll need your mum to testify that there was no intentβ.
βShe wonβt do that for me, and sheβs in the hospitalβ.
βSheβs awake now, and
they can let her testify without her presenceβ.
βHow?β
βA person might be allowed to testify via video conference
or telephone if he or she canβt be present in court. Didnβt you read that in
law school?β
π
βWill she do that?β She asked David.
βHopefullyβ, her husband said.
βͺ******************
βͺ
They were in court and Chantelleβs mother was
live on camera.
βChantelle baby, Iβm sorry for everything that Iβve done. Iβve been a
very bad parent to you and Iβm really sorry for that. My daughter here is a very strong
woman here and sheβs not a murderer. There was no intent. I attacked her and
she took the gun out but it was mistakenly shot. Please release my baby to meβ, she said
crying.
Chantelle was also in
tears. She was surprised that her mum defended her.
Candice went on with
the case and defended Chantelle.
It was time for the
final judgement.
Chantelle was released
and was given 3 months of community service.
Reece also received a
sentence of community work and a monetary penalty.
Chantelle sat on the
floor and thanked God.
Her husband hugged her
from behind.
βDavid are you going to leave me?β
π
βI wonβt leave you, but we have to get you helpβ.π
βThank you Davidβ, she said turning around and hugging her
husband tight.
βNow, letβs go and see your mumβ, he said pulling her
up.
They left the court for
the hospital.
βͺ**************βͺ
For the first time in
history, Chantelle and her mother were happy to see each other.
βIβm so sorry mumβ, she said hugging her mum.
βIβm so sorry too baby. I really am, please forgive me for
everything I put you throughβ.
βIβve forgiven you mumβ.
π
βForgive me too, Chantelleβ, her dad said.
She held her dadβs hand and
smiled.
πππ
βAnd David is a very good man. Heβs the best for youβ, her mum
said smiling at David.
βDavid, please forgive me. Iβm so sorry for
everything that Iβve done to wrong youβ.
βYouβre forgiven maβamβ,
βYou can call me mumβ, she said smiling.
βOkay mumβ, he said smiling.
They were in there for
a while till Amanda showed up.
βDonβt even bother asking for forgivenessβ, she said to
her.
Amanda paused in her
steps and everyone looked at Chantelle.
π§π§
βCos, Iβve forgiven youβ, she said laughing.
ππ
Amanda smiled at her
and hugged her friend.
βBut, Iβm deeply sorry for not being a very good friend, I should
have scolded you on the wrong things you did and advised you. It was really
selfish of me to not help you outβ.
βItβs fine, Amanda. Iβm the one at fault. I should have opened up to
you and humbled myself around you and Bettyβ.
They kept on talking
and then David and Chantelle went home.

βͺ
The following day, they
went to see their pastor in church and he advised them and prayed with them.
βChantelle, you have to let the Holy Spirit dwell in you
completely and follow God seriously and youβll be fine and also
keep remembering that you donβt call the shots. God actually calls the shots. David take
care of your wife and be her shepherd. God bless you bothβ, the pastor
said.
David and Chantelle
left and Chantelle promised to give her all to God.
