I call the shots
Chapter 8
“Reece, what are you doing here?” Chantelle asked him.
“Oh babe, I miss you!!” he said
sarcastically🙄. “I came to inquire on the details of our baby. Remember when
you stormed my place and asked me to come when I wanted to father my baby?”
“What’s he talking about?” Lewis asked getting
furious.
Chantelle kept quiet
and just glared at Reece.
“Chantelle, how is my baby?”!
“Is your baby missing?”, she asked looking
around.
“Don’t play with me here”, he said, getting
close to her and flaring his nose in anger.
“Hey, back off”, Lewis said tapping his shoulder.
Reece held his hand and
flipped him over to the ground, pinning him down.
Chantelle got terrified
but didn’t show a sign of it, she just looked at Reece with no
emotion.
All those at the car
park got terrified. The guys came closer to get a clear view of what was going
on and the girls stayed as far as possible, watching.
Betty and Amanda saw
them, and Amanda was about to run to Chantelle’s rescue, but Betty
pulled her back.
“Are you mad, do you want to get hurt?” she asked.
“That’s our friend, Betty”.
“If Lewis can’t save her, what makes you think that you can do
any better”?
“She still needs us there”.
“Look at her, standing there like a boss. Mandy, she can
clearly take care of herself. Just stay put.
Lewis was struggling to
get up, but Reece held him to the floor so hard, and he lifted one of his arm.
“Are you going to talk now or you want me to twist his arm?” Reece said
to Chantelle.
But she still stood
there saying nothing.
He twisted one of Lewis’ arms and
Lewis groaned in pain.
Chantelle flinched.
“You still not talking?”
He was about to twist
his arm further, till Chantelle spoke up.
“There’s no baby, Reece”,😒😒 she said glaring at him.
“What do you mean?”
“The baby is gone Reece, so can you stop displaying your act
of stupidity and go back to your cave!!”
“The baby is gone? So you terminated it, I thought you were
going to keep it”, he said releasing Lewis and walking close to Chantelle.
“My parents terminated it”.

“I thought they were Christians😕. Wow, you all rich
people are just sick and manipulative
liars”.
“Get out Reece, you’ve embarrassed yourself enough”.
“Shut up hoe”.
She got irritated and
slapped him.
He punched her in the
tummy and was about to hit her again, but the security men finally came and
intervened.
“What are you all looking at?!! “, she said crying and
getting into her car and driving off.
As she was driving, she
got a text from Lewis.
_You and I, we’re done. I
can’t believe that you lied and cheated all this while. And I’m not going
to ask for explanations, cos you’re just going to lie further. We’re done C.C,
I don’t want to ever see you again_
Chantelle cried and
turned off her phone. She got home and quickly got to her room and sat on the
floor, leaning on the wall.
She cried her eyeballs
off and finally slept off on her bed.

It was dinner time at
C.C’s home and for the first time in a long while, Chantelle
joined them to have supper. Junior had gone back to his hostel, so it was just
Chantelle and her parents.
She finally decided to
forgive them, make peace with them and tell them everything.
She sat there eating
slowly and hoping that her parents will ask her what was wrong, but they didn’t.
Everyone ate in silence
before her mother spoke up.
“Chantelle, if we’ve hurt you for trying to fix you, we’re very sorry”, she said smiling
at her daughter.

“It’s fine mum”.
“But guess what?”
🙂
“What?”
“The Howard University application form is out”.
“Yeah, I heard about that. I’m going to fill it
tomorrow morning”.
“Don’t disturb yourself Hun, I’ve already taken care
of that”.
“Melissa what did you do?”
She looked at her
husband lifting her left brow.
“I filled her form and submitted it🙄".
"What course did
you put there?”
He asked
“Law”.
“Mum, what is your problem, I want to study medicine!!”
“Chantelle listen to me, I did it for your own good. You
might not be able to make it through medical school. Law school is going to
discipline you and you’ll make a fine lawyer”,

Chantelle quickly got
up and stormed out of the house.
"This is just a
sick house!!".
