The storm in my life

Chapter 17

Katherine’s POV

I walked into the conference room and everyone still had their eyes on me and the looks were weird, I didn’t understand till I realized that my hands and Noah’s hands were still entwined.

I took my hands out of his gently and walked behind him to the front and I stood aside.

When we go there, Noah lifted his hands up and the whole place was quiet.

“Good morning to you all”, he said in his husky voice.

“Good morning”, they all said in unison.

“I have a special announcement to make. Mr Hayford please come forward”, he said and a man who looked a bit older than him stood up and came forward.

“First of all, I’ll like to congratulate Mr Hayford on all efforts he has put in the progress of this company, please give it up for him”, he said and everyone clapped and he smiled.

“For quite some time now, the assistant manager slot has been empty and Mr Hayford has really been stressed out as well as the head of the various sectors, but from this day, we are not going to have that problem anymore. I present to you, your new assistant manager, Miss Katherine Kerry”, he said, ushering to come to where he was standing.

Everyone smiled and clapped. I was really shy; I’ve never been put on the spot like this. I looked around and almost everyone in this room were older than me, some even looked older than my parents.

I walked forward and I smiled at them.

“Say something”, Noah whispered in my ear.

I honestly didn’t know what to say. Noah didn’t say anything about me giving a speech.

“Uhm, good morning to you all”, I said smiling.

“Good morning”, they all said in unison.

“I’m really honoured to be in your presence and to get this job and I look forward to working with you all, and I promise to do my best and make this company soar higher. Thank you”, I said and they all clapped.

“Alright, thank you Miss Kerry.  Thank you all for your time, you may disperse now”, he said to them and they all got up and left.

“My Hayford”, he called out to the manager.

“Yes sir”, My Hayford said to him.

“I’ll like you to take Miss Kerry around and give her more information on her job, and then we’ll meet later in the afternoon and discuss how things are going to work with you both”, he said to him.

“Alright”, he said.

“Katherine, go with him”, he said and then I followed Mr Hayford.

Mr Hayford was really nice to me; he said he was excited that he finally got an assistant. He took me around and introduced me to the head of sectors once again and they were to report to us in everything they do, and then he took me to his office, which was also as big as mine, but mine looked more elegant than his.

“Have you seen your office?” he asked.

“Yeah”, I said to him.

“Where is it? Because it’s normally supposed to be opposite mine, but the office opposite mine is still empty”, he said.

“It’s on the 13th floor”, I said.

“Close to the Mr Chappman’s office”, he asked.

“Yeah”.

“Mmmm, that’s new, but I’m sure he has his reasons”, he said smiling.

I didn’t know what to say, so I just smiled.

“Can I ask you a personal question?” he asked.

“Yeah, as long as I have choice to reply or decline”, I said smiling and he chuckled.

“Are you both together?” he asked me.

“No, not at all, we’re just uhmm”. I was stuck, I don’t even know if we were friends, things has just moved too quick and now I don’t even know what to call him.

“We are just people who know each other”, I said, smiling.

“Okay”, he said, looking at me suspiciously.

“What, I’m serious”, I said laughing and he laughed too.

“Well, this slot has been empty for a long while, a lot of people applied for it, but he has never had the time to look through their applications or even interview them. You’re really lucky to get him to look through your application and interview, in fact you’re highly lucky to get this job”.

“I’m blessed”, I said smiling.

“Mmm, a Christian huh?” he asked.

“Yeah”.

“That’s great. I’m a Christian too, or let me just say, I go to church every day”, he said and I laughed.

We talked for a while and he gave me more information on the job. I got to like him; working with him will be great. He was really open minded and nice.

After a while, we got up and went to Noah’s office to discuss other things.

Noah gave us more information on how we were going to work.

“Don’t I need a secretary?” I asked.

“Yeah, we’ll send in the job applications for the secretary positions and then you can pick out some and interview them”, Noah said to me.

“Okay”.

We spoke more and then we got up to take our leave, but Noah asked me to wait.

Mr Hayford left and I waited.

“So how’s everything going so far”? He asked.

“Great, I can’t wait to start the actual work”, I said.

“I’m happy you love it”, he said and I smiled.

“Can I take you out to lunch this afternoon?” he asked me.

“Yeah cool. What time?” I asked.

“In about an hour time”.

I looked at my watch. “Okay sure”.

“I’ll be going back to my office”, I said smiling.

“Alright”, he said, smiling back and I left.

I stepped out and walked into Caroline’s office.

“Hey”, I said to her.

“Hey, hail to our new assistant manager”, she said, smiling.

“Come around during lunch time and we’ll catch up”, she said to me.

“Uhmm, I already have plans for lunch. Let’s make it tomorrow”, I said.

“Mmm, with Mr Chappman?” she asked.

“Yeah”, I said.

“So, is that how you got the job? By dating him or what exactly did you do?” she asked.

“Excuse me? What are you talking about?” and she just winked at me.

“You’re sick”, I said to her and I left.

My day was going on well and she just had to spoil it. But what I didn’t know was that a greater storm was coming.

My Muse 40

*My Muse*♥️☺ *_Chapter 40_* *Natasha's POV* Today was supposed to be my happy day. But it turned out to be my worst nightmare. I was happy to be finally getting married to Oscar. As I walked down the aisle with my dad, tears of Joy were all over my cheeks. I couldn't believe it. Everyone stood up with a weird look on their face. What's going on? They were supposed to be smiling. My dad also noticed it. "Don't panic or mind the looks you're receiving", he said and I relaxed a bit. I looked at April, she's supposed to be cheering me up but she looked confused. As we got to the altar, I finally understood why they all had those looks on their faces. Oscar wasn't there. Where could he be? I said to myself panicking. "Where's Oscar?" June whispered in my ear. "I don't know"😰😰 I looked around and his family members were all there, but Oscar wasn't here!! I took my seat  and June starte

My Muse Sequel

*My Muse*♥️☺ *_Sequel_*💘💘 *Natasha’s POV* “Mom!!  Mom!!”  My little girl said, jumping on me. I was sitting on the chair so it was easy for her to jump. “April, you’re going to hurt our baby”, I said, widening my eyes. “I’m sorry mom”, she said, pouting her lips. “It’s okay baby. How was school?” I asked her. “It was great. I played with my friends. Miss Alison taught us new numbers. I can count one to twenty now”, she said, grinning. “Oh that’s great. Count for me”. She counted 1 to 10 and I was really happy for her.  April was just 4 and she was really smart. “That’s wonderful baby”, I said, clapping. “Where are your brothers?” I asked her. “They are outside with daddy.  They both got into a fight”, she said, frowning. Not again. Kendrick and Kendrack are always at each other’s throat and it really annoys me. They fight over little things like they’re girls. And yeah, they’re twins. They turned 7 this year. I waited patiently for them to come in.

My Muse 39

*My Muse*♥️☺ *_Chapter 39_* *Natasha's POV* "Uhmm. Will that be a good idea? Aren't other pastors available?" "Since he just got ordained we decided that he officates his first wedding now, and it happens to be yours". "Is he cool with it?" I asked. "Yeah, he was happy about it and said something about his prophecy coming true", he said and I remembered what he told me the day he broke things off with me. God is indeed great and true to his words. "Are you okay with it?" He asked me. "As long as June is fine, then it's not a big deal", I said and Oscar looked at me with questioning looks. "Okay, congratulations once again". "Thank you", I said and he hanged up. "What was that about?" Oscar asked me. "They've gotten a pastor to officiate our wedding". "And it's June?" He asked and I nodded hoping that he'll be cool with
