The storm in my life

Chapter 11

Katherine’s POV

“The new one”, I said without thinking.

“You’re bored with the first one already?” she asked.

“Not that, I just want to try a new face”.

“Okay, you know you’re going to lose money by picking him right?”

“Yeah, I know”, I said.

“Okay, I’ll send you the details through your mail”.

“Sure and uhm, when will the money be transferred to my account?”

“As soon as I get off the line, I’ll let the accountant do that”.

“Okay”, I said smiling.

Immediately I got off the line, I jumped up and down my bed in jubilation. I was really surprised that Noah paid the money.

I don’t know what his deal is, but I don’t want to get into it, so I just had to choose a different client. I wasn’t ready to get into something deep.

I was dancing around when I heard my phone beep.

I took and received a bank alert. I had money being paid into my account. It wasn’t that much, but it was enough to move my dad and start something at least.

I danced around.

I was so excited.

I took a quick shower and went to the kitchen to get something to eat. I opened the fridge, it was quite empty. The cabinet was also quite empty.

I just took hot coffee and went round the house to take notice of the things that were done and things that we needed.

I took my purse and stepped out.

I was going shopping. With the money I had, I’m sure I could take care of my dad’s movements and get some stuff for the house.

I got to the supermarket looking all bubbly. I took the cart and went around taking stuff for the house; I also took something for Lucy, my mum and my dad. I wanted to make them happy.

As I was walking around the place, I came into contact with one of my old friends.

“Katherine!!” she exclaimed.

“Beverley!!” I also exclaimed and we hugged each other.

“How have you been?” she asked.

“Great. How have you been too?”

“I’ve been good by God’s grace”.

“Yeah, I can see that”, I said smiling.

“You’re looking so nice”, she said checking me out.

I was wearing a dress with pleats and a flat shoe.

“Thank you, you’re not looking bad yourself”, I said to her.

She was wearing a skirt and a shirt. She looked official, so it’s either she took a break from work or something else.

“Yeah, I just took a break from work and decided to get something here”, she said.

“Oh okay, you’re still working the bank?”

“Yeah”, she said, smiling.

“I heard you got a new job”.

“Yeah”, I said forcing a smile.

“At where”, she asked.

“Quora Limited”.

“Wow, that huge company? That’s nice, what exactly do you do there?”

“I’m the assistant manager”, I said, lying through my teeth.

“That’s great Kat. You see, we all told you to be patient with God and see what he has done”.

“Yeah, he never disappoints”, I said, sarcastically, but I’m not sure she could tell.

“And how’s your dad?”

“He’s fine. We’re praying as usual”.

“Yeah, keep praying and God will surely do what he does”.

“You know right?” I said sarcastically.

“Yeah, I’m so sorry, but I have to go now. We’ll catch up sometime soon, okay”, she said.

“Sure”, I said, hugging her and then she left.

I continued with my shopping and after I was done, I went to the counter, paid with my card and left.

**********

I was at home waiting for Lucy to get back, so that I could take her to the hospital later in the evening.

I was at the sitting room, when she knocked on the door. I opened up and saw her smiley, bubbly face.

“Hey honey”, I said, hugging her.

“Katherine, you won’t believe what happened in school today”, she said grinning.

“What happened?” I asked her.

“I stood up to that girl who was always bullying me in the school bus”.

“Really? What did you do?”

“She told me that my mum was just an ordinary school teacher and I got upset, but I told her that at least, she’s helping the country by teaching ordinary dumb people like her”, she said laughing and my I widened my eyes.

“Lucy!! That was mean”.

“But she was mean first”.

“Yeah, but what did the bible say about paying evil with evil?” I asked.

“That we shouldn’t pay evil with evil or insult with insult, but we should rather pay them back with a blessing because I was called to do that in order to inherit a blessing too”, she said, looking down in shame.

“Yeah, that’s true. You don’t have to be ashamed. I know that is difficult and…”.

“So are you saying that I should have let her get away with it and keep on bullying me?”

“No, I’m not saying that. Just don’t say something mean to her. When she says something like that to you, just say something positive about mum and not something mean to her. You can say ‘I love my mum and she loves what she does and I really admire her for that’ yeah, something like that”.

“Okay”, she said smiling again.

“Yeah, your lunch is on the dining table. Go and take a shower and then you come back and eat”, I said to her and she left.

*************
“Daddy!!!” Lucy said hugging my dad.

“Baby girl”, he said hugging her too.

They started talking and I went out to receive a call.

“Katherine” Noah said in his husky voice.

“Yeah”, I said back.

“I requested for you, but I was told that you were booked”, he said.

“Yeah, that’s true”.

“Can’t you cancel it?” he asked.

“I’m sorry, I can’t do that”, I said bluntly.

“I can talk to your boss if you want me to”, he said.

“No Noah. I don’t want you to do that”.

“But, I want to see you”, he said.

“Some other time Noah”.

“Tomorrow?” he asked.

“Maybe”, I said. I wanted him to just get off the line.

“Okay then”, he said hanging up.

What’s with this guy? If he thinks that he’s going to get me to fall for him, then he’s totally wrong.

I received a new mail and quickly tapped it to see who my new client was.

I viewed the picture and saw that it was Noah’s dad.

My Muse 40

*My Muse*♥️☺ *_Chapter 40_* *Natasha's POV* Today was supposed to be my happy day. But it turned out to be my worst nightmare. I was happy to be finally getting married to Oscar. As I walked down the aisle with my dad, tears of Joy were all over my cheeks. I couldn't believe it. Everyone stood up with a weird look on their face. What's going on? They were supposed to be smiling. My dad also noticed it. "Don't panic or mind the looks you're receiving", he said and I relaxed a bit. I looked at April, she's supposed to be cheering me up but she looked confused. As we got to the altar, I finally understood why they all had those looks on their faces. Oscar wasn't there. Where could he be? I said to myself panicking. "Where's Oscar?" June whispered in my ear. "I don't know"😰😰 I looked around and his family members were all there, but Oscar wasn't here!! I took my seat  and June starte

My Muse Sequel

*My Muse*♥️☺ *_Sequel_*💘💘 *Natasha’s POV* “Mom!!  Mom!!”  My little girl said, jumping on me. I was sitting on the chair so it was easy for her to jump. “April, you’re going to hurt our baby”, I said, widening my eyes. “I’m sorry mom”, she said, pouting her lips. “It’s okay baby. How was school?” I asked her. “It was great. I played with my friends. Miss Alison taught us new numbers. I can count one to twenty now”, she said, grinning. “Oh that’s great. Count for me”. She counted 1 to 10 and I was really happy for her.  April was just 4 and she was really smart. “That’s wonderful baby”, I said, clapping. “Where are your brothers?” I asked her. “They are outside with daddy.  They both got into a fight”, she said, frowning. Not again. Kendrick and Kendrack are always at each other’s throat and it really annoys me. They fight over little things like they’re girls. And yeah, they’re twins. They turned 7 this year. I waited patiently for them to come in.

My Muse 39

*My Muse*♥️☺ *_Chapter 39_* *Natasha's POV* "Uhmm. Will that be a good idea? Aren't other pastors available?" "Since he just got ordained we decided that he officates his first wedding now, and it happens to be yours". "Is he cool with it?" I asked. "Yeah, he was happy about it and said something about his prophecy coming true", he said and I remembered what he told me the day he broke things off with me. God is indeed great and true to his words. "Are you okay with it?" He asked me. "As long as June is fine, then it's not a big deal", I said and Oscar looked at me with questioning looks. "Okay, congratulations once again". "Thank you", I said and he hanged up. "What was that about?" Oscar asked me. "They've gotten a pastor to officiate our wedding". "And it's June?" He asked and I nodded hoping that he'll be cool with
