The storm in my life

Chapter 16

Katherine’s POV

I was about to burst out and I felt someone hug me from behind.

I turned around and it was Noah, I didn’t know how to react to this, so I just moved away and smiled at him.

Everyone had their eyes on us especially the receptionist. I really felt awkward and shy.

“Looking for me?” he asked.

“Yeah”.

“Let’s go”, he said walking towards the elevator and I followed him.

We reached the 13th floor and we stepped out.

“How many floors does this company have?” I asked.

“15”, he said, turning right, and I followed him.

As we got closer, we got to a huge office and I thought it was his, but I saw…..

“Caroline?” I said out loud.

“Katherine!” she also exclaimed and stood up but when she saw Noah, she sat down.

Noah looked at us with a questioning look.

“She was my friend in college”, I said, clearing him off his suspicion.

“Oh, I see”, he said.

“Any information for me Miss Adams?” he asked.

“Yes sir, I’ve sent all updates to your mail”, she said.

“Okay, please get coffee for my guest and I”, he said, walking into another office which was bigger than the one we were in.

“What are you doing here?” Caroline said, mouthing the words to me.

“I’ll tell you later”, I said to her and I walked into Noah’s office.

It was really huge and fancy as usual.

“Nice place”, I said, taking my seat.

“Thanks”, he said, smiling.

I quickly took out my CV and other necessary documents and I gave it to him and he just glanced at it and put it away.

“I really took a lot of time to gather that document and edit my CV, so please look at it and see that I’m worth this job”, I said to him.

“You’re already worth it Katherine”, he said smiling and placing his hands on mine.

Another awkward moment. I gently pulled out my hands and said something.

“So, what floor is my office in?” he asked.

“On this same floor, it’s normally on the 10th floor but I want you close by in case I need to pass by or you need to pass by”, he said, smiling.

“Mmmm, okay”, I said smiling back.

I was still confused as to what he wanted from me.

Caroline came into the office with two cups of coffee and she placed one in front of me and one in front of Noah.

“Please send a message across, I’ll be making an announcement at the conference room in 30 minutes and also go to the office down the lane and see if the people organising the place are done”, he said to her.

“Yes sir”, she said and she left.

Caroline wasn’t really my friend, she was in the same ministry with me and I always felt that she had it in for me because she was really friendly with everyone and when it came to me, she was just hey hi, and stuff relating to the ministry.

“Lost in your thoughts again?” Noah said and I just smiled.

“Just remembering something”, I said.

“Oh, I see”.

“How long has Caroline been your personal assistant?” I asked.

“For 3 years now and she’s been really good”, he said.

“Yeah, she’s a good Christian girl; she was once my leader back in college”.

“Really?” he said.

“Yeah”, I said.

“That’s cool, she never mentioned it”, he said.

“Do you talk to her that often, I mean aside work stuff”, I asked, curious.

“Yeah, we were a bit close before and she started crossing her boundaries and acting weird and I had to just break loose”, he said.

“Oh, I see”.

Caroline knocked and walked in.

“The place is ready sir”, she said.

“Okay, that will be all for now”, he said to her and she left.

“Are you done taking your coffee?” he asked me.

“Yeah, I am”.

“Okay, let’s go to your new office”, he said to me and he got up.

I also got up and followed him out.

We walked for a short while and finally got my office.

It was really big, not bigger than his, but it was really big.

As we walked in, I walked around and looked at the place in awe.

“This is my office?” I asked.

“Yeah”, he said smiling.

I couldn’t believe it. I had my own office and it was really big.

“There’s more”, he said and a man walked in with papers.

“Please sign here and here”, he said to me.

“What am I signing for?” I asked.

“Just sign it”, Noah said.

“Okay”, I said and I signed the papers.

“Here are the keys to your new car and apartment”, the man said, handing over the keys to me.

God please, if I’m asleep, just wake me up now. I don’t like jokes. I close my eyes and opened it and everything was still as it is.

“Are you for real?” I said to Noah.

“Katherine take it. It’s a normal thing we do for people with high positions in this company. Your boss has a car and apartment too”, Noah said to me.

“Okay”, I said and I took it and I quickly rushed to Noah and hugged him.

“Thank you so much”, I said to him, and he hugged me back.

“You’re welcome”, he said to me.

“Here’s my car, when you close from work, please call me and I’ll take you to your car and then to your apartment”, he said to me.

“That’s alright, I will take her there myself”, he said to the man.

“Okay sir”, the man said an he left.

I was still admiring my office and thanking God in my head.

I couldn’t wait to say the good news to my family and friends. They’re going to question me on why I left my other work, but I’ll just tell them that I quit because this one had a better incentive.

“It’s almost time for your introduction, let’s get going”, he said and he stretched out his hand to me and I took I t and we walked to the elevator.

As we got in, Caroline got in too and she kept on glaring at our hands which were still entwined.

We got to the 7th floor and we walked to the conference room and a lot of people were already there.

I really felt shy but this was it. God was finally turning things around for me.

My Muse 40

*My Muse*♥️☺ *_Chapter 40_* *Natasha's POV* Today was supposed to be my happy day. But it turned out to be my worst nightmare. I was happy to be finally getting married to Oscar. As I walked down the aisle with my dad, tears of Joy were all over my cheeks. I couldn't believe it. Everyone stood up with a weird look on their face. What's going on? They were supposed to be smiling. My dad also noticed it. "Don't panic or mind the looks you're receiving", he said and I relaxed a bit. I looked at April, she's supposed to be cheering me up but she looked confused. As we got to the altar, I finally understood why they all had those looks on their faces. Oscar wasn't there. Where could he be? I said to myself panicking. "Where's Oscar?" June whispered in my ear. "I don't know"😰😰 I looked around and his family members were all there, but Oscar wasn't here!! I took my seat  and June starte

My Muse Sequel

*My Muse*♥️☺ *_Sequel_*💘💘 *Natasha’s POV* “Mom!!  Mom!!”  My little girl said, jumping on me. I was sitting on the chair so it was easy for her to jump. “April, you’re going to hurt our baby”, I said, widening my eyes. “I’m sorry mom”, she said, pouting her lips. “It’s okay baby. How was school?” I asked her. “It was great. I played with my friends. Miss Alison taught us new numbers. I can count one to twenty now”, she said, grinning. “Oh that’s great. Count for me”. She counted 1 to 10 and I was really happy for her.  April was just 4 and she was really smart. “That’s wonderful baby”, I said, clapping. “Where are your brothers?” I asked her. “They are outside with daddy.  They both got into a fight”, she said, frowning. Not again. Kendrick and Kendrack are always at each other’s throat and it really annoys me. They fight over little things like they’re girls. And yeah, they’re twins. They turned 7 this year. I waited patiently for them to come in.

My Muse 39

*My Muse*♥️☺ *_Chapter 39_* *Natasha's POV* "Uhmm. Will that be a good idea? Aren't other pastors available?" "Since he just got ordained we decided that he officates his first wedding now, and it happens to be yours". "Is he cool with it?" I asked. "Yeah, he was happy about it and said something about his prophecy coming true", he said and I remembered what he told me the day he broke things off with me. God is indeed great and true to his words. "Are you okay with it?" He asked me. "As long as June is fine, then it's not a big deal", I said and Oscar looked at me with questioning looks. "Okay, congratulations once again". "Thank you", I said and he hanged up. "What was that about?" Oscar asked me. "They've gotten a pastor to officiate our wedding". "And it's June?" He asked and I nodded hoping that he'll be cool with
